Pool Rules for BC PGA
How it works: Simply put, it's a PGA Survivor Pool where earnings are our leaderboard. You select one golfer each week for the next 35 weeks, once you take that golfer, you can’t use him again. We start January 5th, 2023 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii and end at the Tour Championship in early September. Whatever your golfer earns, you earn and it’s a cumulative tally for the year. If your golfer is cut, you earn $0, but you are not knocked out, you just have a very boring week watching your friends golfers make a nice payday while your guy watches them on TV like we all do. The guy who has the most earnings is our winner. Simple, but fun. Picks lock early AM the day of the event. I try to make the cut off as close to the first tee time as the site will allow. Most events start Thursday, and I will send out email reminders to get your picks in. I will make you aware of events that start or end on different days. There are also side pot payout within the pool (with Top 3 paid out at each category): most consecutive cuts made, most cuts made total, most earnings in the Majors, best first half and second half earnings (18 weeks for first half, 17 weeks for 2nd half). The website is old school and a little clunky but has everything you need. Also has some cool reports it runs that I will explain once people get a feel for it. You will love this league if you love golf and/or love to gamble. You will pay more attention to the Friday cut line than you ever have in your life. You will break the refresh button on your computer when your guy has a birdie putt to get back under that cut line on the 17th or 18th hole of the John Deere Classic. The PGA app for your iPhone will become your new best friend, so download it immediately. Last year we had 255 total entries and gave out over $50K in winnings and over 6K to a great charity ($25/head); South Shore SNAP. Last year solo first got $9850 and top 25 got paid as well as many others for side pots like top earnings in the Majors, FedEx Cup and others. In total last year about 40 people got some cash back at the end of the season.
