Pool Rules for MDGA
| 1000 units per entry. Number of entries dictates payout structure. Assume weighted to top 5 finishes.
Starts with Sony Open on 1/8-1/14 and ends at BMW on 8/19-8/25.
The 4 Major events, the Players Championship and the finale the BMW are 3 player picks with a side pot each. The Fedex St. Jude is a 2 player pick with a side. All other weeks, regardless of purse, are 1 player picks. We will not be choosing picks for the “side events” run the weeks of Arnold Palmer, WGC Matchplay, Scottish Open, and British Open. We will be skipping the Zurich Classic as well due to odd format for our pool. The Olympics will just be a week off with no picks. Total of 44 picks.
Picks due by midnight day before opening round regardless of start time/date. If you miss a pick for any reason, be it technical issues or being trapped under a large rock, there are no exceptions made of any kind. If player picked is either ineligible or WD’s after the deadline he cannot be replaced but will be returned to pool of eligible picks. Players cannot be taken more than once. Please don't come into me on this with hat in hand if you mess up. I get it sh1t comes up but you put me in an impossible position when you ask. Just get your picks in and if you don't sorry.
Payout structure (will be adjusted depending on entries so come back later but for reference early on this was '23's payouts):
1st- 24,000 (Less 125 site fee) units; 2nd- 15,000; 3rd- 9,000; 4th- 5,000; 5th- 3,000; 6th-1,000; 7- 1,000; 8- 1,000
If anyone does not pay their entry I will do my best to hound them and whoever brought them into the pool. If somehow they truly do not ever pay up then I will reduce 1st, 2nd and 3rd pro-rata and the team who failed to pay will be banned and I will likely punt whoever invited them in too.
Sidepot Rules :
1,000 units to the winner of each of the 4 majors, the Players, the St. Jude, and the BMW Championship. There has to be one clean winner. If any ties then any teams that tied will compete in side pot at the next "Sidepot" tourney until someone wins outright. So if 4 teams "win" the Masters with same overall earnings, those 4 teams will compete against each other only at the PGA in a sidepot for the Masters 1,000. All teams will be competing for new 1,000 for PGA itself.
If there's a tie at the BMW I'll just pray its not a bunch of teams and then chop it up among those tied.
